Personality Disorder Counselling

Long-standing patterns in relationships and self-image, worked with respectfully and without the stigma these diagnoses often carry.

Diagnoses like borderline (emotionally unstable) or other personality disorder labels often come with a lot of stigma attached, sometimes including from within the mental health system itself. That stigma isn't useful, and it isn't how this work approaches it.

Whether or not a formal diagnosis is involved, the focus is on the actual patterns causing difficulty — in relationships, identity, or emotional regulation — and on working with them steadily over time, in a relationship built to tolerate rupture and repair.

This is an area I work with directly — my background includes experience across a variety of psychiatric inpatient facilities, and presentations like this make up a meaningful part of my ongoing caseload.

Sessions available in person in Cork, or online worldwide.
